i know there's screws under the cup holders in the front to get that part off, but how do i get the back portion off?
and how about those little circle things covering screws? like the ones in the door handle gaps and the rear cupholder?? i need to run some wires in there, so...how do i get the armrest off??

ineed to know this as well, im trying to run wires under there and i cant do it without taking it off. there is 2 screws under teh front cupholders, one under the rear cup holder, and then theres one on each side of the arm rest. for those you have to remove the two big plastic circle coverson each side of the arm rest.

i got that far and then i couldnt figure out how to get the bottom part of the armrest off. theres a little bar that goes across the armrest, and i cant figure out how to get that off. i also couldnt figure out how to get the small plastic screw cover off in the back cupholder. i tried the smallest little screwdriver i had and i couldnt lift the cover off.

in the back of the console. I think you mean console not armrest. there is a rear cup holder. Take the two screws out of the front cup holders, take the one out int he back. Its under one of them little caps like you mentioned. Now. Pop out the shifter boot. Pull up on it from the backside and it should pop out. Take off the shifter knob and all that then just pull up on the rear first, slide it back a little and it should lift out....

oh yea, for the armrest. I reread the post a little. If you are trying to take the armrest off, its held on by 2 screws, maybe 4. can't remember, but there is a little plastic peice on the backside of the console, it just pulls off and the screws are in there, you take em out and the armrest should lift off the console

You pry it up, it's very very simple, it's just a cap covering the hole. Use a small flathead screwdriver or an eyeglass screwdriver and put it in that tab, then push up. You will laugh when you realize how simple it is.

You also have to remove the shift knob and pull the e-brake handle to it's maximum to be able to get the whole thing out easily.

WTF? I posted to this already and it didn't show up???? Strange....

Anyway, I don't know how the ATX shift knob comes off. Maybe PM the guy that did that ATX shifter shaft cutdown. I believe his thread is still active in the Interior Mods section. It might just twist off, no clue...

exactly what S2 said.....but its not just the screws underneath the cupholders....
right underneath the armrest there is a square angled piece that u have to pull off as well...but u gotta pull kinda hard. there's 2 screws underneath that, once u get that off, u should be good to get the whole thing off....and btw with the auto transmission, it slides right over it. this is also good for cleaning underneath there.
