Rattling noise only when im in park or neutral

So i have an 03 se with an auto trans. and i noticed today that when im in park or neutral that there is a rattling sound coming from below the gear selector (almost like metal to metal) and im not sure what it could be. ive searched the forums for a little while and could only find one post sort of like my problem and they where thinking starter motor..but i dont think that would be my problem..or am i wrong... im not having any other problems with my car other than the noise also..

Pull the console and see if the shifter mount is loose.

I have a 2000 SE manual with that same issue, I looked under mine, I have an issue with the exhaust flex pipe extension. It was allowing the bracket right behind the flex pipe to move and hit the undercarriage. Check that the flexible exhaust hangers are still good. This may be the issue your having. Good luck

Thanks guys I'm gonna take a look at those suggestions but I'm not sure the exhaust hangers would be the problem cause it will only rattle in park or neutral not drive and reverse..but i could be wrong...I'll let you all know if i find anything.

So I took a look at it and it was the flexible hangers, thanks fordguy2000, when i fist heard it i thought it would be more serious than that especially after all the problems that have been coming one after another.
