A dealer story turned out good :)
I'd like to keep names/make/model of the cars in this story secret so i'll make those up.
A few months ago an individual ordered a really expensive high end vehicle for delivery at another location. ($40,000 car) he paid for it, and it was built/sent. During prep time there is a small stretch of road the vehicle has to be driven on (maybe about a mile in total trip time) we've done thousands of deliveries this way never once with an issue. Unfortunately a vehicle collided with this individuals brand $40,000 car completely and utterly totaling it prior to him taking possession of it. Customer was upset, for obvious reasons. There was only one solution he'd accept we had to upgrade him to a more expensive vehicle, quickly. Unfortunately ordering a new one was out of the question we did however have even higher version (price approx $47,500) The solution? He was given a $7,500 discount and he took the higher end model vehicle. Glad to know that I work for a company that stands behind it's product and will fix an issue when it needs to be done. |

Ok fine Mustang GT fully loaded, he was upgraded to a BOS 302 fully loaded.
BTW to most dealers a BOS 302 is like a gift. It's supposed to be a really profitable sale and a reward for being a successful dealer. So to discount one to keep a customer happy is a huge deal. |

that is a good dealer. Most would just have their insurance pay it back and tell him to get something different. Good to hear there are still some good dealers out there.

Assuming the collision was the fault of the other vehicle (implied), the dealership really didn't have too much at stake. They're going to get their money back on the M GT from the other guys' insurance. So they're missing the $7,500 discount, and whatever mark-up money they would get on the Boss. And when your a responsible company, you do what's right, regardless.
