New subs

Have had my car for 2 months and had my 2 Sundown SA-8s from my truck in the focus and finally got around to buying some for it.

Decided on 2 Obsidian Audio 12s. I think they are the best bang for buck IMO.

Built the box out of birch to be lighter.(Ill never use MDF again) Its 40" wide x 15" deep x 17" tall. 6" aero port tuned to 32hz. Had to take the back seats completely out to get it in. Still was very close to not fitting. Have about 12" of trunk space left.









Excuse the mess. This was right after putting it in.

Running on a 1200D and some crappy 4 gauge I had laying around. 1/0 wiring and the extra battery will be going in when I get time. Slowing upgrading.

Pretty happy with them so far.

Still deciding on if I should carpet, stain, or paint the box.

seal it off from the trunk and paint the front of the box to match the grey plastic and then carpet the back to match the trunk.

Hmmm Sounds good. What color is the gray exactly? My truck is opel and they carry an opel spray online.

Finally someone actually runs something that is quality :D looks good... maybe think about securing the box forward facing, and fiberglass the entire face to seal it off

Lol thank you. I just bought an AQ 120.4 today. Going to start on the mids/highs as soon as I get my electrical upgraded.

I was waiting on Audio Technix to get some more 0 gauge CCA but it looks like they aren't going to have any until late june. Don't think I can wait that long. :(

I want to seal it up but not damage the car with fiberglassing or get spray foam all over everything. But I guess those are the only real way to do it.

you dont have to mess anything up. you can put plast over everything and tape the plastic down to where its air tight and then lay the fiberglass or use the the spray foam.

Those really remind me of Ascendant Audio Assassins. I never have ever sold them. About the best subs that I ever owned.

Popwarhomie yeah Im Jacob, Who are you 0_o lol If you can message Coleman Thedinger (owner of Audio Technix) on Facebook and find out if he has any 0 in stock as of right now...

A tip I read here or somewhere else about sealing .... Take ziplock baggies ,the big ones, and foam inside them .... take the bag position it and then Fill it up in the car and seal the bag... it fills the void and can be pulled out when your done .

Just a audio technix follower and I've seen your car a few times.

Ive messaged him a couple times and he said he doesn't have any 1/0 CCA. I know the pre order is going on but Im getting really anxious to get some 1/0 and AT won't have any until mid June :(
Got my AQ120.4 today and just need to upgrade my electrical before I can hook anything else up.

Ill have to try that with the ziplock bags. Thank you.

Next best wire would be kickers ofc wire... Kinda expensive tho... I recommend a singer alternator if he offers One for your year
