Turbo Maintenance

I'm just making this thread because I'm getting some 100,000 maintenance done to my car. The other weekend I was at a Focus Cruise meet and my car was making a weird ticking sound, I took it to a family friend mechanic and it was stuck lifters so I'm getting those all replaced as well as

timing belt
water pump
timing belt tensioner
accessory belt
02 sensors
crank pulley
Idler Pulley
PCV Valve
Coil pack and Wires
Spark Plugs

I'm not too familiar with turbos in general (still learning) so I will be having my boyfriend ehancock help me out with my turbo build. But my main question is that is there anything I should do maintenance wise before I put the turbo kit on? I have all the parts but the oil lines, wideband, gauges, tune. Just the finishing parts. Any help would be appreciated. I jsut want to make sure it can be prepared as much as possible safety wise for my turbo.

And I will be making a turbo build thread since this is for the SPI and there really isnt that many threads about this other than jeffescort really.

Thanks!

maintenance wise, if you're gonna replace all those parts mentioned in the list, you should be good to go. what are looking to push boost wise?

Probably 7 psi. I will have to build my tranny for anymore. I have an automatic, I will either be getting a lentech or swapping a manual. Not sure which route I want to go currently.

As of right now I will be using a t3/t4 but am contemplating using a turbonetics super 60 instead, I know someone who has one.

Crank pulley there is some wear on the rubber ring part of it causing it to wobble so I'm replacing that. o2 sensors are for 100,000 mile maintenance I've heard it be recommended. I already have all of the parts and they are being put on this week. I got everything crazy cheap. Other than the lifters were really expensive. Coil and wires were because before I was having some idle issues I figured since I was buying the wires from Massive that I would just buy the coil pack as well.

So basically consensus is am okay and probably good to go?

yea you should be good, but im not really an SPI expert but i heard a lot of people droping valves on those engines. And im not sure what is involved in replacing the lifters but if head removal is necesery i would definitly look into freshening up the valves or at least looking at them to make sure evrything is in order

I had a turbo cvh :) , not the 2.0, but the 1.9. its all basically the same. which manifold do you plan on using? i used the "RS" manifold and i had to custom make my clutch slave wich was a big pain in the ass. im excited to see this build it should bring back some memories :)

Within the past two weeks we did an oil change, fuel filter, accessory belt, acc belt idler pulley, crank pulley, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, water pump, spark plugs, msd coil, massive wires, front and rear o2 sensors, and all 8 lifters. Her car runs AMAZING now. Idles and drives so smoothly. The random harsh ticking noise popped up a couple times since it was worked on. Her family friend thinks it's a valve getting stuck. That will have to be looked at a bit more thoroughly before boooOOOOst. Worst case scenario we get one of the updated/rebuilt heads off of ebay.

The current setup she has was put together by MUTTLEE if anyone here remembers him. It's a JGS manifold with a t3/t4 xspower turbo. The piping that he put together is top notch and is still in great condition. The turbo may be replaced with a super60. We also definitely need new oil lines, and will probably be upgrading the current wastegate and bov.
