First and foremost, if you are daily driving the car, I'd watch some crash test videos of some corbeaus, I chose not to gamble with something like my life. I've seen both and the difference in build quality is noticeable as soon as you sit in the seats. I went from a broken stock seat to a sparco evo 2 in my mazda3, it sit should fit as the chassis is pretty similar to your focus. The difference was night and day, as someone else said, it's a more communicative feeling with the car. Not to mention, no longer needing to hold on for dear life. Currently running no harness, but plan on getting a 4-point for next season. The seat is mounted onto Brey Krause steel side mounts and it is both welded and bolted onto the stock slider assembly attached to the factory bracket. All you need is an angle grinder and a tig (preferably) welder. My recommendation is that you sit in the seat you intend on purchasing before you commit. Find some dealers nearby, and try some out. It would suck to waste money on something that you're uncomfortable with, especially when you consider the cost of quality seats. I'm sure you're aware of this. I daily drive mine and have no problem doing so. Took a trip from southern VA to upstate New York. Things started getting uncomfortable after 5 hours or so. I won my first trophy in street tire after 3 years in FSP, I like to think the seat had a lot to do with that :P I've had the car dialed in for quite some time, but the sparco seat was def a game changer for me. Sooo let's talk sizes? height and weight?

pkolator, thanks for the input on the sparco and corbeau.
Erik, I've been thinking of the kirkey seats, but I'm not sure how they would ride for trips to events. Thoughts on hour plus rides in the kirkey seats?

mzmanny, I appreciate the input on the corbeau's, I've been a little leary on the price. I don't daily drive the car, but I do drive it to events. Safety is a concern there, driving in the southeast with some of the least talented drivers in the world occupying the freeways!

The nice thing about the Kirkeys is that you can buy new covers and padding at any time; they snap on and off--the frame never wears out. I love they way the seat feels on track...and you can buy them in many different widths to ensure a custom fit.

just saw this discussion on seats. i had a sparco seat for racing, but still oem passenger seat. recently i picked up 2 kirkeys for $150. the guy had bought the "intermediates" instead of the "Drag", and they have this really annoying wings that get in the way. So, i spend some time with the angle grinder and tig welder and cut them down so they look like the drag seats, and i'll modify the cover to match. Also, for the passenger seat, since there is no minimum weight, i may take the hole saw to it, and lighten it up. this should drop quite a few pounds from the car. Don't worry though, a passenger will never sit in it, its just for official competition. i swap race seats in for auto-x, i much prefer the oem for commuting to work.
