I've got amature mechanic skills, but you only get one chance to get it right on an interference motor, I'd rather not do it myself. I'm at 83K on an 04, that's an old rubber belt, I feel like I'm driving a ticking time bomb.

mine is non-svt but its at 78k should i worry about this as well?

I'm not sure exactly when you should do yours, probably before 100k. If yours breaks, you'll be stranded on the road side and it could be dangerous because you'll lose power steering and brakes, but you won't destroy your engine. On an SVT, the valves retract as the piston moves up, if the timing belt breaks, the valves and pistons will collide, usually destroying the engine, though sometimes the damage can be repaired, but it would still be very expensive.

When you change the belt, you should change some other components with it, like idler and tensioner, you'll have to research exactly what's recommended for your motor, maybe water pump too.

The belt on my wife's PT Snoozer broke because the tensioner seized up, that was scary. She almost crashed because of it, thank goodness she didn't.

Calling all people from Utah (Salt Lake area specifically)

My Jeep was broken into at the University of Utah campus between 5pm and 9pm if any one saw anything funny around a green XJ jeep parked in the institutes parking lot please let me know.

A red Recaro ProRide Child's seat was stolen along with a crappy CD player and a suite jacket.

If anyone sees a Red/Gray Recaro ProRide Child seat up for sale or someone trying to sell one off please let me know. This is a rare enough child's car seat I am guessing there is a high probability if could be mine.
