FocusRus, ALL motor mounts are intended to move a little, that wording of diagnosis won't work since brand new cars will move some, never seen a one that didn't.
Now a LOT of movement, yeah, that should not happen..........I look at over 1/2" as probably bad. |

Point taken. I would say when mine did it.....I had about 1 inch. I had a bad cv axle on the right side, changed it out and still had the noise. What was happening was the motor mount had enough play to where it dropped the engine slightly and when I would accelerate or make turns-it would make noise. The purpose of lifting the motor is to see just what the amount of play is. Amc49.....good morning to ya!

So I finally got the correct passenger side axle installed the other day and all is well. but now I think my driver side front wheel bearing is making noise. And my clutch has seen better days. Whats the best value for dollar clutch upgrade for these cars?? The cars already been modded and I plan on possibly looking at forced induction or more mods in the future so I'm fine with a clutch pedal thats a bit stiffer. Any suggestions?
