Battery relocate Q's

So I am wanting to relocate my battery to the back of my car where my stock sub used to sit.

I am curious what gauge of wire would be best for me to use? I'm thinking something BIG, like 8 gauge???

I would assume its pretty much swap out the stock wire and run the new wire to wherever I wish right? Or solder the two together?

Anyone got pics would help too.

I would use 2 gauge wire.

And just connect the new cable to the old and run it wherever you want to. Then just ground it somewhere with a new ground cable in the back somewhere.

8 gauge wire isn't very big either.

Yeah at least 2 gauge it'd be a good idea to run either a circuit breaker of a fuse within 12 inches of the battery too. Ive use these before, makes connecting everything easier, and they look pretty cool too.

and then a circuit breaker or fuse holder like these...

or

I can't remember off hand was size fuse to use...

I've never bought from those sites before just quick Google search, you can get a distribution block and a fuse holder for fairly cheap at a local stereo install place or even best buy has them.

Make sure your grounded to something good. When I moved the battery to the back in my old Trans-Am I found I still needed a ground wire to the engine to cure a hot engine cranking problem.

the little latch thingie that the hatch clips to comes out with a special torx driver. i grounded mine on that. ill take some pics tomorrow if you really want me to. there's nothing really that complicated about relocating the battery except finding a hole in the freaking firewall which i never found
