His first offer was at invoice. He dropped it to 23 even before I left.
I thought I had seen invoice of 233xx online, but was told online numbers were typically wrong. I figured 1-2% below invoice would be as far as I would find a dealer willing to sell one, which I'm pretty close to where I'm at if his invoice is right. If the online numbers are to be believed, there may be another $500 or so to play with.

I don't know as I don't have access to all the numbers, and the only reason I still can see the build and price configurator and the a/z plan information was because of the account I had created before my grandfather who had retired from ford had passed away. He had helped me to buy my car by granting me one of his four z-plan pins for 2012.

X plan is something close to 96% of the sticker price though afaik, although I may be misremembering things. I had qualified for x-plan on my own through work, but a/z plan was much better as it was below their published invoice value (above the true invoice less holdback for the dealer though), and no negotiation on price level would be required as its all fairly prescribed by Ford what the car sells for at that point minus any publicly available rebates that anyone can qualify for. Not all rebates stack, but if they do for joe schmoe they should still for the plan recipient as well.

Where do you get your calculations from? There are guys on the FocusST.org site that are getting 36mpg avg with their ST's, way better than I've ever seen on our Ti. At the same mileage point with our Ti, I'm getting better mpg with the ST. The suspension and brakes, do make it worth the extra money alone, the ST is more than just over HP over the Ti. Unless you actually own one, and experience the difference for longer than a 5 minute test run, there's no way you can factually make any opinions.

Every picture of the cluster I've ever seen online was 23 to 29 mpg. Plus all the posts on this site.. Highest I've read about was "30ish".

Ask anybody that has a Ti, fuel mileage is very close to the same. Not 30% better than those averages.

Sorry, going by online post regarding fuel economy is fairly pointless. This is unscientific data. In order to make any real assumptions, many data points would need to be monitored and corrected for. For example, elevation, temperature, terrain, and driving habits all impact these numbers.

I would rather go by scientifically measured percentages and would assume that similar vehicles would be in a similar range of their individual ratings. I have only had my Ti for a week and have not driven much on the highway and I'm already getting 30mpg according to the onboard information display.

I am sure the fuel economy will improve once the vehicle is broken in.
