Listed the major stopping points of the Carolina's caravan. All locations can still be changed if anyone disagrees with the choices. Meet the NC/SC members at 9:00 A.M. at the McDonald's off of exit 44 (I-40) in Asheville, NC leave at 10:00 A.M.. Then head to the Dragon where we can possibly stop again to meet up with anyone. Drive into Knoxville, TN and meet the GA/FL members at the Hooters off of exit 108 (I-75) at around 1:30 P.M. and have a possible late lunch, leave at about 2:30 P.M. Continue to Louisville, KY where we'll stop overnight. In the morning we'll meet up at the McDonald's off of exit 118 (I-64) at around noon on Friday. We'll possibly meet up with the OH/KY/NW guys here. Leave here around 1:00 P.M. and continue to the official FF hotel for the dinner caravan.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Not sure if i want to tackle this trip...13 hours 801 miles from where i live.

Only thing is i'm off 7 days starting at 7:00 Thursday night.

Gonna have to wait and see if we go to beach this summer....thats 4 hours from me & we usually take the kids in July.

Joey, sounds like a good route that's been planned and mapped out. You have my approval

If nobody else has any complaints with the route or stopping places, I guess it will be more or less the official route!

As for lunch at hooters, another great idea!

Don't think so. Looked on Hotels.com real quick for a one night stay in Louisville. I found the Baymont Inn and Suites Louisville for $58 a night (4.1/5 stars). Or the Microtel Inn by Wyndham Louisville East for $59 a night (4.3/5 stars). Those seem to be the best for that price range, below that and it starts to get pretty sketchy lol. Not bad prices IMO.

I'll look and see the neighborhoods those two are in. I'd like to wake up in the morning and my car still be in the parking lot -- with the radio and wheels! lol I'll report back in a few and edit to say what I find (both about the location of those two and other, potentially better options)

EDIT: Looks like the Microtel might be the better of the two. With a AAA Discount it comes to $72.44 after all taxes and fees for a single night. I have yet to actually book the night so if anyone finds other options, please let us know. Remeber for other options: Good area of town is required. I like my wheels. And I like them on my car. (I don't have locking lugs... I should invest in some, but thats my problem.)

Anyways, Opinions, comments, or conserns?
