When I drove out to California and back I got 42mpg. I thought it was impossible so I had called my mom to do the math to verify it since she is an accountant and she is good with numbers she did verify I got 42mpg even on a misfire on the number one cylinder. Modifications to the car at the time was just a cold air intake and straight pipe exhaust, oh and it was an automatic at the time. It no longer is an auto, I had converted over to manual 6months ago and I love it!!!! Just tonight I raced a Honda hatchback with a B16 motor swap and got him by a car length, my current modifications is the intake, straight pipe and cfm throttle body. My car is also gutted right now. That interior really holds the car back.
