2013 Titanium or ST
Guys,
I'm looking at these two cars and the only real difference is color and a few little things that I will list below but I'm having a hard time trying to decide. I don't really care for the race red on the ST that much but the car is being sold for a great price what would you do if you were in my shoes? Titanium $26,780 Sterling Gray with Titanium handling package (nice 18" 5 spoke wheels) Navi Park Assist heated seats NO Moonroof Rear view camera with senors automatic ambient lighting remote start ST $26,792 Stage 2 Race red Moon roof Navi 6 speed manual NO Rear view camera, park assist or heated seats |

well, the st has the HP and torque from the better engine, but titanium has better like.. luxuries? personally, i'd take the st for the moonroof, 6 speed manual, recaros, etc. heated seats would be nice, but would you enjoy a warm butt or more hp and torque more? I agree with race red, i'd rather blue, black, or tangerine scream personally. but is it going to be a DD you still wanna have fun with? or just a DD (not meant that the titanium wont be fun, more looking at like racing n such, or just enjoying the extra power the st offers). talk to the dealer and see what they can do for you to sell the car. you might be able to get the heated seats if you really want em. it's all about which luxuries you REALLY want, and are willing to pay the premium price dealers and such charge for them. the st will give you power and a moonroof for the 26k, the titanium will give you more luxuries but a little lag when you wanna speed by something, for 12 dollars less.

If it was manual vs manual, I'd pick the Titanium
Honestly, how much of your car's life, in percentages, are you going to spend racing and traveling triple the speed limit; because that's the only way you can explore the limits of an ST. The overwhelming majority of the time, you're gonna be driving in a normal fashion. When you do, the luxuries and niceties will serve you better. Plus, it has the handling package, which will improve handling immensely over the base models (which is already great), and once you rev the engine higher it actually has decent power. As well, it has better fuel economy, and sits better on long-distance cruises . I think the Titanium would be a good compromise of fun and practicality. HOWEVER -- the Titanium is DCT. Given the headaches, and the simple fact that manual is more fun and involved to drive, I'd pick the ST. I would suggest switching the DCT to manual, and using the money you saved to get the moonroof. It's just...nicer :) Then again, I'm biased -- I'm driving a SE sport with manual. |

ST! Only because it is a stick shift.

My wife has a 12 SEL Focus and I have a 13 ST, these two cars are very different and it goes beyond the options list. You have to answer for your self do I want a sporty car that gets great fuel economy or a performance car that you are going to pay a mileage penalty for the performance. The options list doesn't really matter and you likely will have regrets if you base your decision on the options only.
Remember those aren't the only two cars available. The SEL we ordered because there was no cars available that were optioned the way we wanted. The ST has a much shorter options list so I was able to find one in stock the way I wanted it. |

What is important to you gizmos or performance. Harder to upgrade performance that styling too.

If you really have to ask then just stick with the Ti since most who buy the ST are buying it for the power and then the rest is just nice extras to have.
