this may sound like a really dumb question/statement, but haveing never done an autox event yet (planning on it in april), i plan on using my 00 stock wagon spi focus...the car as of right now is still under reconstruction from a valve seat that fell out..how much stress is put on the car during an typical sock class event? i know every driver is different, but im wonderin if i should even consider using my car in this. i would hate to have it get F'ed up again.. any suggestions? thanks.

If it isn't in "good" condition I wouldn't do it. Like the condition of my SHO it's a bit old and worn all over.. with an mostly unknown engine/tranny history to me I'm not going to do it any time soon with it since I might break it. I used to autox my Crown Vic but never my Focus but my Focus is the DD and I will start this year!

^^ yeah thats my main concern, if its gonna be strong enough or not. i mean its a rebuilt head that is "suppose" to have fixed the valve seat issues, and i know all the other parts that im putting into it are good (new). the only thing that would really break (besides the head..again) would be the thermostate housing. ford doesnt seem to make the exact type thats in my car right now anymore. my old one snapped when we were pulin the head off (my bad) and when i entered in the part number it came up as a different part. autozone. napa, and my local ford dealers didnt have the correct one. so we plan on "fixing" the one i have now =). but i think im gonna try it with my DD. if anything ill just be slow haha

Race cars always break down and then get fixed, just make sure you check your work with a fine tooth comb!
I say flog it!
