honestly i dont know why you want that kind of power.... youll never be able to hook it up... i mean more power to you if you really want it.. but you could have 500whp and someone with 250whp will spank your ass in a quater mile due to the MAJOR traction issues you will have...you will be smoking the tires all the way down the track... i got my ass handed to me one time by a z28 with some head work and drag radials..by like 12 car lengths.. and he got it all while i was spinning my tires... but then i raced him again on my lower setting and he only got a couple of car lenths and i played catch up..


And btw it was not the mafia and no i have not figured it out.. it starts most of the time now..i have a theory that its a form of hydrolock not exactly but i cant think of what it is called... basically its something i cant fix ever.. cuz what it does is basically floods the cylinder with too much pressure from gas and doesnt allow it to start until the pressure has decrease.. cuz every single time it doesnt start if i give it a few mins and try to start it it starts.. now my major consern is the clutch.. and it doesnt run completely smooth either when just crusing.. not sure as to why.. im still working out the kinks i drive it everyday and it hasnt done me wrong yet.. its just not perfect yet.

indeed traction becomes an issue once you hit around the 300whp mark. but you can still hook up pretty good so long as you have the right combination of tire, suspension, weight distribution, and dont get into the throttle too quick. with stock suspension, LSD, and mickey thompson DR's, spraying a 75 shot off the line ive seen 60ft times of 1.7. i figure with the correct tune, suspension and tires i can easily hook just the 1st 125 shot stage in 1st gear only. hit 2nd gear and run the 1st stage to say 5000rpm then 2nd stage kicks in. 3rd stage ease the clutch out with both stage. 2nd stage will probably have to be on a button. keep in mind all of this is complete baloney until i actually do it. thats why i love this site so much because i can get on here and BS with ideas of things that "im gonna do", get peoples opinions, change my mind to something better, BS a little more and then eventually just give the hell up lol

lol... i feel ya man... only thing i have seen when you start dropping you times on the focus below 1.7 is the axles start to give.. and i would love to see someone hook up a 125 shot in first gear... at 300whp which is about 170-180whp from stock i cant hook up a bit of 2nd gear... now that is with some sticky street tires.. but still i would love to see all of 1st gear hooked up on a 245whp focus... that would be sweet.. and if you can do it.. tell me how you do it.. my goal is to hook up all of 2nd gear in my high setting at about 400whp.. and my plan for attempting is to get some real wide tires up under her with some good compound i wan shoot for like a 255 or 265 up under the front with some 2 in fender flares and kick the tires out or just change the offset with a new pair or wheels.. i already have the h&r kit and next i want to put some traction bars on my car as well... i hear they do wonders.. but no one will send me a pic of them on there car so i can see where the middle bar goes down the car.. im afraid that my down pipe is gonna be in the way of them... but if you can do it and hook it up.. I WANT A RIDE.... oh and I WANT TO KNOW YOUR SECRET...

ya know that stupid cast aluminum bracket that bolts to the transmission that the dogbone mount bolts to? my neighbor and i fabricated a solid steel piece to replace the dogbone mount and that bracket. i took that to the track and hooked the 100 shot so hard out of the hole that it ripped the bolts out of the transmission case and made the engine knock the firewall, hopped out off the gas and blew the intake tube off the manifold. ive since re-tapped the transmission case and reinforced everything and i also went back to the cast bracket and VF dogbone. i would rather break that bracket rather than blast the transmission case into bits. i think if i hadnt stripped the bolts i would have landed a 1.6 or 1.5 60ft. i dont know... maby im just dreaming but with my wore out stock suspension ive never had any wheel hop since i put all the VF mounts and LSD in. except in freaking rain. for some ungodly reason if i start spinning on wet pavement the SOB will wheel hop like a midget on a pogo stick


EDIT: lakewood traction bars and 10 inch slicks are what you need
EDIT AGAIN: ill be more than happy to take you for a ride if it all works out, and if you do get traction bars and the down pipe is in the way i have local guy who is the bomb at exhaust piping. bring the car to him, show him what clearance issues you have, take the pipe off and he will fabricate what you need for probably $20-$50 depending if he likes you or not. he is a little weird and will sometimes charge people more or even just flat out run them off if he "doesnt like the look of them" or they smart off. but in a nut shell he fabricated my flex back exhaust and according to the dyno it gave me 3hp more all the way up the board and then dropped to a slight loss on the very top end over the real borla exhaust. not the trubendz with a borla muffler. needless to say i was very impressed. he is supposed to be getting a new bending unit in a few weeks that he's all excited over. his old one finally bit the dust, but after he gets it he should be back in business

that sounds sweet.. first things first i gotta get the car running great.. so then i can really push the car and drive it like what i built it for...

i had a dream last night that i finally got her running right (well sort of) and finally took her to the track... first run was with a corvette on the low setting and ran a 13.4 and beat the corvette by about 3 car lenghts...lol.. then as i was driving back i saw a desil hummer run something and spank the $&*t out of it.. so they pushed me to run him.... so i lined up with him and pushed her hard out of the hole and in second gear hit the high setting and squeaked by him with an 11.19 in the quater mile... he was pissed...lol...i have had dreams like that before (not about racing but like telling the future) and they have always been right... makes me wonder if i can hit low 11s with the fofo... just tells me i need to get her running good and get her to the track.

from what i remember tom was running high 9s or low 10s at 700hp and was still running mid 10s at 500. i think low 11s could be done with 400whp simply because you can hook better lol.

lol... thats my goals with it.. well just have to see if i can ever get it there.. im about ready to sell it though and start over with something else.. im just getting tired of always fixing it.. with as much as i have into the car it should run perfect.. but it just never seems to want to.. its close but just always just out of reach..

well with all the money and legal issues ive been having lately i might just sell you my built to the gills engine if things get bad enough. i mean the sucker is ready for 500+whp. it just needs a turbo kit that can push that much boost. after much back and forth discussion with tom on making my goal on nitrous alone im definately going to abandon that idea. so im just going to have to bring the build to a halt for awhile until everything either gets straitened out or i just say eff it and sell the whole shebang

no thanks i have a motor that is capable of well over 500whp.. i just have no desire to go that far with it.. like i said we tuned mine down and i cant hook up any of the power i have.. and i want a fast street car.. if i went to 500whp i wouldmt be able to do it on pump gas.. my setup is for pump gas.. yeah with race gas i could hit 500whp im sure... but i am thinking my car is cursed.. its not the motor im having problems with... its everything else..
