Looking at buying a used SVT, help!

I am in the market for a new car. I am trying to sell my ZX3, and then take out a loan for the difference to get an SVT. I found one semi-local, and I want to know what you guys think it is worth. I also want to know common problems on this year SVT, and what I should all look for.

He is not the first owner of this car, but he said he has taken care of it.

Here is the ad:

New sway bar end links, energy trans mount, racing sway bars, SVT flat black 5 spoke 17in rims, tinted windows, shorty antenna, tinted corners, newer bfg g force low pro tires, slotted and drilled rotors front and rear.

The interior is black leather seats with blue cloth inserts, 6 disc cd player, 10in sub built into back hatch, sun roof, oil temp and pressure gauge, 5 point harness mounts.

The car has a little over 100,000 miles, the oil has been changed every 3000 miles with mobil 1 synthetic 10w 30 and a motorcraft filter.
Let me know what you think guys, thanks!

I would say $4,500 tops. Has a lot of miles on it. Nice list of mods though.

Thanks man, right now he wants to get atleast $5,300 out of it, and I want to offer him $4,750. I just need opinions from on here, and what I should look out for with this car when I go check it out.

Thanks!

He said he had the clutch professionally replaced about 10,000 miles ago and put in an upgraded clutch and lightened flywheel.

that sounds like a good car.. i would get a carfax on it to see if it has ever been wrecked.. i can't think of any thing that you might want to check for off the top of my head.. i would test drive the car first and see if it sounds good no eng knocks or cel on.. sounds like a nice car...

I would also check that the timing belt has been replaced. That can cost $300 by itself as well. Make sure you mention the high mileage on it and the 7 year old car as well.

I checked the VIN number on CarFax and it said it had 20 records. Records can be anything from accidents, to major maintenance, and also how many owners it had. I can't see what the records are until I pay $30 for the CarFax. If anyone has a CarFax account that they could plug the VIN into, let me know. 20 seems like more than average to me.

yea 20 sound high to me... if it has been in a wreck you might want to move on.. if it was repaired incorrectly it could be a rolling death trap...

That's what I thought too, I am going to get a CarFax and check it out.

I also had this on my mind. That is what I was thinking too, I just want it to be reliable. Is there a way I could check to see damage to the engine if I went and checked it out?
