if you could be certain that the water containing part of the intercooler can hold a significant amount of psi then liquid nitrogen would be kickass. however if you could get your hands on PURE chlorine (which is a halogen gas) it would be much more manageable. the boiling point of liquid nitrogen is -320°F and it would boil immediately upon trying to put it in the intercooler and the actual ice build up from condensation probably wouldnt help if you were able to get enough in there and seal it up. the boiling point of chlorine is -29°F thus making it much more manageable albeit more difficult to get your hands on.
