So i finally got around to installing my suspension set up. I had a full svt swap and was pretty happy with it for the last 80-90k or so. I figured it was time to upgrade.
What i just installed today was:

Koni Yellows With Prothane front bump stops
KYB Front Strut plates w/ new bearings
H&R Race springs
Front control arms with Polys and Moogs
Reinforced Rear control arms with Polys
Eibach front and rear sways

Im new to this setup and its fairly agressive but i feel like firm or midway to firm is completely useless as my car is bouncing its ass off. More or less coming from rear or maybe thats the illusion. I am assuming its a spring rate issue. At least that would be my guess. On full soft it is a few steps above my svt suspension which im pretty happy with. Doesnt bounce much and is very firm. Is this pretty normal for the Foci or the race and koni combo? Any comparisons would be greatly appreciated.

BTW. i cut the stock rear bump stops as well about two bumps back to eliminate a bump stop shock type issue. Maybe i wasnt supposed to use the stock bellow and bump stops for the rear. But i wouldnt see why i shouldnt.

Thanks

Car was having electrical system issues, those were solved by a new battery and the "Big 3" cable replacement. Car drove great for about 1 week, then I experienced some stumbling. I checked the fuel filter, it was dirty as all get out; so I replaced the fuel filter. She ran fine for about 2 weeks. Now I am having some weird fuel system (i guess) issue. The car has trouble starting, but cranks just fine. I open the hood and shake the wire attached to the fuel rail pressure sensor and cam position sensor and unplug/plug in the cam position sensor and the car starts, but has problems maintaining idle until warmed up. After the car is warm, and being driven; anything under 4k and the acceleration is HORRIBLE. Over 4k it SEEMS normal. Below are the 5 codes I am throwing, any help will be appreciated at this point.

P0193 - Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor A (frp-A) ckt - High Input
P0325 - Knock S1 ckt (B1)
P0340 - Camshaft Position (cmp) A ckt (B1 or single sensor)
P1380 - Camshaft position actuator ckt (B1)
P1504 - Idle Air Control (iac) ckt

Any Ideas?

so i was able to get my hands on a set of svt folding mirrors. installing them was a piece of cake and they look ten times better then stock. the one problem i am runnning into is getting the heated mirror part to work. my car already had the wires for it when i disconnected my factory mirror. there were five wires on the plug with only three coming from my stock mirror. the svt has five so i should be good on that side. fuse # 50 is noted as the fuse for the heated mirrors. when i activate me rear defroster i get power to fuse #50. but somewhere between the fuse and they door there must be a missing link because my mirrors just arent getting the power. i can feel heat from the back window when the defroster is on, the mirror glass should be getting warm also? but it dosent. i have gone through about 30 pages of threads and have come up with, its either, pre-wired or note wired at all. mine seems to be stuck in the middle of that.
thanks for reading and any help would be great :D

So, I finally got around to getting my butt outside and doing the brake job (new rotors and pads) on my ZX3 so I can start driving it around again.

I started with the driver side, and aside from the learning curve involved in how to do it properly since it's the first time I've ever tried to undertake a task like this, it went fairly smoothly.

Once I got to the passenger side, however, I realized that this was not going to be a job finished today...

When I tried (several times) to compress the piston with the c-clamp, it would not budge. After doing some research, it would appear that the piston is seized and I need to replace the whole thing.

My problem is this:

I have no idea where or how to disconnect the line that's holding the entire caliper assembly! I've searched Youtube as well as Google and I cannot find anything! I even did a search on the forums here (dug in 5 pages) and still can't find anything!

I am in no way going to pay a shop an astronomical fee to do this unless I absolutely have to, so I am hoping that someone here can offer some advice!

A lot of times when I come to a stop my foot will be almost resting on the gas pedal. This is the same problem my moms 2006 fusion has (although hers is much worse... you almost have to press it to the floor) I just had my brakes checked yesterday when I got my oil changed and the front discs were at 5mm and rear drums are at 4mm and the tech couldn't anything. Anyone know whats up?

Iv searched for a fix but have found nothing yet.
Iv just changed the timing belt on my 2000 1.6 zetec petrol focus. I didnt change the auxiliary belt as that was changed not not long ago.

However, now my power steering is rather stiff.

Iv checked the aux belt, made sure its clean and fitted correctly and made sure the power steering pipes are not knotted, as i did have to move the reservoir about a fair bit whilst changing the belt. But still stiff steering.

Can anyone suggest what could have gone wrong?

On another note, i now also have a hissing noise that sounds like air releasing under pressure from around the alternator area that lasts a few seconds after i turn the engine of, anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Yep, the links were knocky and the brakes were about 80% used up. I guess 60K is not bad for orig stuff, and I'm always reminded how easy this car is to work on. My other daughter put 130K on a 2002 and this 2007 requires about 10% of the attention that one needed. The 2007 seems a MUCH better piece.

Recently, after two and half highway drive and 10 days long-term park in airport, I have found an aperiodic ticking noise come from the passenger side of the engine( i.e. the time chain side). It is not the periodic ticking noise from injector for sure, which is also on my engine. It does like something is knocking the engine.
In addition, the noise comes only when I put to 'D' or 'R' with the car stopped by brake pedal (like stopping at the traffic light) . If I put to 'P' or 'N', the noise disappears. If I start to drive, the noise disappears too. I also noticed when braked at 'D' or 'R', the rpm is pretty low (like about 750), otherwise it has a idle rpm of 800 at 'P' or 'N'. This has make me feel that the noise only occurs at very low rmp but I'm still not quit sure if my feel is right.

The detail can be found in following video taken under the engine:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYrpihiO0gI.

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

My wife is in the driving cabin to control the engine. In the first several second, the transmission is put in 'D' without braking. You can see the transmission axle is rotating, with no strange noise. When braking occurs, the rotation stops of course, and the noise comes out from the passenger side of the engine.

Anybody has any idea what should I do. Thanks
